“A hidden gem in Narrabundah”

‘Love’ is what this restaurant is all about. Just ask Dom about the 140 year old hand made French bricks, imported from Vietnam, that set this venue’s warm interior. You’ll hear a story about determination and passion for creating a restaurant that inspires as well as excites.

Set in a warm, open space, La Cantina’s atmosphere is set by classic Italian oil paintings, Roman style brick walls creating a ‘cellar feel’ and the elegant contrast of modern lighting, casting shadows up the brick walls.

The Celestino family has created a bustling space with laughter and open chatter, while still maintaining intimacy and cosiness through the use of brick archways, dark timber floors and chocolate brown leather lounges.

“La Cantina means the cellar in Italian and that was the atmosphere that I wanted to create. I feel like a pioneer sometimes, opening a restaurant in Narrabundah, but since opening night we have been incredibly busy. My vision has turned into reality.”

We hand make all of our pasta

Fresh pasta made in house daily. Lovingly rolled, shaped, filled and cooked perfectly al-dente.

AGNOLOTTI


Similar to ravioli our agnolotti is filled with confit duck and has been a staple on our menu since opening. 

GARGANELLI


Each garganelli is individually hand rolled by our chefs and beats penne hands down in our books.

GNOCCHI


Nothing beats freshly made gnocchi and these fluffy potato pillows lovingly created by our chefs will comfort you from the inside out.

Tagliatelle


Tagliatelle are long, flat ribbons then lend themselves to being coated in rich sauces

Squid Ink FETTUCCINI


The squid ink not only brings a dramatic black colour to the pasta but also imparts a subtle brininess. 

Chitarra


Similar to spaghetti but with a square shape Chitarra gets it’s name from the “guitar” as the tool to cut the pasta resembles guitar strings.

Pappardelle


Pappardelle are large, very broad ribbons of pasta perfect for those hearty sauces

Orecchiette


Our Orecchiette are all individually hand shaped to create the ‘little ear’ that the name translates to.
